The Global Feldenkrais Festival has been raising money in support of SAGE for many years. This is to provide you with some more information about where your donations have gone.

What is SAGE’s Mission?

SAGE leads in addressing issues related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning and other self-identifying members of the community (LGBTQ+) aging. In partnership with its constituents and allies, SAGE works to achieve a high quality of life for LGBTQ+ older people, supports and advocates for their rights, fosters a greater understanding of aging in all communities, and promotes positive images of LGBTQ+ life in later years.

What does SAGE do?

• Advocating for LGBT+ Seniors

• Provide community through event targeted at LGBT+ seniors including movie nights, exercise programs, and other social events

• Providing free meals at all NYC SAGE Centers for LGBT+ Seniors

• Providing informational resources, veterans services, housing help, case management and more

What does the LGBTQIA+ Community mean to me?

The Community holds a special place in my heart. I wrote an article several years ago called An Embodied Vision of Pride about the intersection of Feldenkrais and what it means identifying as a gay man.
